Well now that we are in the new year I thought I’d give you a brief update on 1st Upton St Leonards Scout Group and what we have been up to and what we plan to do this year.
The end of last year saw the Group put on two Group Shows for all the parents. Thank you to all those that attended, we hope you had an enjoyable evening’s entertainment.
1st Upton St Leonards has just opened its second Cub Pack to cope with increasing demand. We now have two Beaver Colonies, two Cub Packs, one Scout Troop and are closely linked to the Nutty Badgers Explorer Unit. Look out for more details soon once the annual census has been completed.
We are looking forward to 2009 with some of our major events including the Explorers planning a summer camp down in Devon and the Scouts heading off to Cumbria for a week. Our annual bedding plant sale is now also well into the planning stages. We can’t wait to provide lots more opportunities for children in the Group to participate in Scouting this year.
We are now collecting Sainsburys Active Kids 2009 vouchers. Last year we did really well and managed to increase our supply of games equipment including new parachute and throwing games. Please help us to increase our sports equipment even further this year by collecting vouchers from friends and family and passing them on to any member of the Scout Group.
The Nutty badgers Explorer Unit are also collecting Printer cartridges to help with their funds. See the advert on the right for more information, or just bring them in on your normal section night.

TWO Christmas Shows for the price of one!! As the Group is so large now, we'll present two Christmas Shows this year - 12 and 19 December. Come along and get in the Christmas spirit!
Well done to Tia, Sophie, Dannii, Tab, Will and Rishona for turning up to the Explorers fundraiser this morning, raising lots of money and improving the nations gardens!
